Will Shriver's stallion sons

9/8/13 What have the last two five gaited World's Grand Champions had in common?  Besides brilliance, motion, athleticism and power?  Will Shriver was their grandsire!  Bravo Blue was sired by Callaway's Blue Norther, and Callaway's Annabel Allison was sired by Caramac.  Other posts have talked about Wing Commander and some of his sons, Yorktown's sons and Supreme Sultan sons, so why not talk about Will Shriver?  Will was a product of Callaway Hills' breeding program, and most of his stallion sons had their breeding careers at that same farm.  A couple other posts  from February & March have already talked a little about Callaway Hills, but this is dedicated to Will's sons.

Callaway's Blue Norther out of Royally Blue by Royal Rambler
His offspring included WGC 5G CH Callaway's Forecaster, CH Callaway's Cumulus,
CH Callaway's Carnival in Rio.  Stallion sons include The Mystery Writer, Deep Blue,
Northern Blues, Northern Vegas, Callaway's Guy Park, Callaway's Bluesman,
Callaway's Northern Kiss and Callaway's Cranston.  He also sired
CH Callaway's Born to Win pictured below.

Callaway's Blue Norther X Lady Gambler (BHF) by Buck and Wing
This fella has been a phenomenal show horse, but before he was gelded,
he sired CH According to Lynn, CH Callaway's Born with Style and
the beautiful gray CH Callaway's Born for This.
He's the only Will Shriver grandson I'm going to picture today!

Caramac out of Stonehedge Vanity by Vanity's Sensation
His offspring include WGC 5G CH Callaway's Annabel Allison,
CH Callaway's Rockaway, CH MyChanel,
BHF mares Callaway's Zerelda & Callaway's Carousel.
His sons include Designed, Callaway's Main Man, Perfect Cover,
Mac Attack, Select Stock, Callaway's The Gipper,
and of course, Undulata's Nutcracker.

Since Caramac and Callaway's Blue Norther were so successful, many of Will's other sons didn't get as much chance at stud, but they were useful nonetheless.

Callaway's Capital News out of Look of Love BHF by CH Colonel Boyle
His best colt was probably Callaway's Capital Reporter

Callaway's Chancellor out of Lady O'Flirtation by Chief of Greystone
Chancellor was a Will Shriver son that wasn't owned by
Callaway Hills, as most of his sons were, and he ended up
in Michigan.  He was very long lived, like many in the family,
and recently passed away at age 28.

Will Shriver
He was Betty Weldon's pride & joy for good reason.
The saddle horse industry should be very thankful to both of them.
