Stonewall Supreme

Stonewall Supreme was one of those horses that managed to do it all. Sired by Stonewall King out of Mamie Peavine BHF he foaled in Missouri in 1941. He was shown successfully, and even placed in the ribbons at Louisville in the 5 Gaited Stallion Stake. However it was as a grand producer of colts that he really shined. Siring less than 150 total colts in a 27 year breeding career, which averages just a handful of colts annually, he sired excellent show horses as well as breeding stallions and producing mares that are coveted in any pedigree.

CH Stonewall's Sound of Music by Stonewall Supreme

He sired numerous CHampions including WC CH Duchess Delovely, WC CH Penny's Stonewall and WC CH Stonewall Parfait who excelled in the 3 gaited division and WC CH Stonewall's Sound of Music who was 5 gaited. His son WC CH Stonewall's Crescendo showed in Fine Harness. Penny's Stonewall also went on to produce breeding stallions Rare Treasure and Penny's Superior Stonewall, both sired by WGC Superior Odds. Stonewall Parfait was the mother of the good broodmare Longview's Parfait.

CH Stonewall's Crescendo by Stonewall Supreme

Stonewall Supreme sired a number of noted sires, including the previously mentioned Stonewall's Crescendo. WC Stonewall's Crescendo foaled in 1962 and was out of Marie Bosace BHF. He sired CH WC Cavalleria, WC CH Coaltown Prince and WGC CH Black Irish who were all geldings. Other breeding stallions sired by Stonewall King were Supreme Hi Lite, Jay O'Lee, Supreme Rights, Donalene Supreme and Stonewall's Starfire.

Supreme Hi Lite sired by Stonewall Supreme

Supreme Hi Lite was one of Stonewall Supreme's last colts, being born in 1970. Bred by Alice Seabright, he was later owned by Tom Ferrebee who showed him throughout his career. He was 3rd in the 5 Gaited Stallion Stake at Louisville in 1976, and 2nd there in 1977. Long lived like his sire, his last foal came in 2001. Some of his better colts were Dianna Hi Lite, RWC Prom Queen, RWC Lite Fantasia and WC Karissa Hi Lite.

Jay O'Lee by Stonewall Supreme

Jay O'Lee was bred by Ruxer Farms and was out of Molly O'Lee. He was later sold to Danny Daniels and stood in California. He sired CH Red Hot, WC Jay's Happy Hour, RWC Vanna White and CH Take my Picture.

Supreme Rights by Stonewall Supreme

Another Stonewall Supreme son was Supreme Rights. Bred by Bob Whitney, he was born in 1963 and was later owned by Charlotte Osborn Barrett, George Gwinn and Singing Hills. He sired CH Imperial Rights and CH Symbolism.

Donalene Supreme by Stonewall Supreme

Donalene Supreme was another colt from 1963 and was also bred by Bob Whitney. His dam was Jane Fable, a full sister to WGC Edith Fable. He stood in Ohio under the ownership of Roy Pavey. He sired Leticia Supreme, dam of WC CH Intoxicating Lady and a number of other nice broodmares. He is well recognized in Ohio bred pedigrees.

Stonewall Starfire by Stonewall Supreme

Stonewall Starfire was owned by Jim B. Robertson and Dr Geraldine Meanor. He appears on pedigrees most often through his South African son (SA) Mr USA. You'll find (SA) Mr. USA on the pedigree of Dorian Warrior's Song, (SA) Tornaado, (SA) Molligny Don't Worry be Happy and WC (SA) Calif First Night Out.

All the above makes Stonewall Supreme an important sire in the American Saddlebred breed, but he really made his mark as a sire of broodmares. Out of 82 mares that he sired, 6 entered the Broodmare Hall of Fame. Of the six, two were CHampions, and one of those was a World's Grand Champion in Fine Harness.

CH Dreamhill's Ann Thompson BHF by Stonewall Supreme

WC CH Dream Hill's Ann Thompson was a 3 gaited mare and later produced WC Santana Ann, Dreamboat Annie, WC CH Epcot Center, and RWC Citibank.

WGC CH Supreme Airs BHF by Stonewall Supreme

WGC CH Supreme Airs showed in Fine Harness and produced many breed builders including WGC CH Foxfire's Prophet, Putting on Airs BHF and WC Supreme Heir, a number one ranked sire.

WC Sultan's Great Day out of Supreme Casindra BHF by Stonewall Supreme

Supreme's Casindra produced RWC Sultan's Casindra, a good broodmare in her own right, WC Sultan's Great Day and WC I'm Sultana!

Supreme Fascination was a full sister to Supreme Airs. She produced RWC Lite Fascination, breeding stallion The Chairman of the Board, and WC Karissa Hi Lite. Lite Fascination and Karissa Hi Lite were sired by Supreme Hi Lite, so they have a double shot of Stonewall Supreme. This pair had another full sister, Fascination's Kari Lynn, who lived to be 28 and I'm happy to own her 24 year old daughter.

Supreme Desdemona by Stonewall Supreme

Continuing with the Stonewall Supreme Hall of Fame Broodmare daughters, Supreme Desdemona was the dam of CH Lady Cameron.

Dixie Duchess by Stonewall Supreme

Rounding out number six on the list is Dixie Duchess. When bred to Oman's Desdemona Denmark, she established one of the golden crosses of the Saddlebred breed. Together, he sired and Dixie Duchess produced WC CH Glenview Radiance, Valley's Desdemona Denmark, WGC CH Belle Elegant, WC CH Summer Melody, All Hail Columbia and WC CH Denmark's Grand Duchess.
