9/28/19 Reserve World's Grand Champions

On Saturday night at Louisville, a three judge panel decides who is crowned World's Grand Champion.  Sometimes it is a split decision, and the winner earns its title by a narrow margin.   Reserve Grand Champions are fabulous horses, and many go on to earn a World's Grand Champion title in their future.  Case in point, CH Wing Commander, who was a Reserve Grand champion as a 4 year old before reeling off 6 straight championships.  Another horse, CH Emerald Future was Reserve World's 3 gaited champion four times before finally winning the championship in 1955.   However, there are some horses who never go on to win the big dance and earn that coveted title.  This post will look at a partial list of those horses, who had great careers, won numerous titles, but never quite achieved that top honor. Here they are along with a mini pedigree and the year they won their RWGC title.
