Who made it to the top of the chart? Supreme Heir, son of six time sire rating leader Supreme Sultan, was at the top in 2003 for the 4th straight year. Other Supreme Sultan sons near the top of the list were Sultan's Great Day, Radiant Sultan, The Irish Connection and Sultan's Royalty. Supreme Sultan's son, Sultan's Santana, was represented by Santana's Charm and Shamrock Santana.
The geography of the stallions seemed more in line with the Kentucky hub of the Saddlebred world.A whopping 18 stallions from Kentucky were advertised, with the rest coming from Florida, Texas, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, California, Illinois, Missouri and Georgia. The Carolinas were completely shut out of the large ads this year.
Here, in alphabetical order, are the 30 stallions who had at least full or half page ads in the February 2003 issue with the sire rating results. If they were in the top 25 stallions, their number ranking is highlighted in red. Callaway Hills had a nice ad, but didn't picture Caramac or Blue Norther, who were both in the top 10.
