1/11/15 American Saddle Horse Breeder's Registry, 1965 mares

1/11/15  Last week looked at the colts born and registered in 1965, so this week will feature the mares born 50 years ago and registered with the American Saddle Horse Breeders.  There were some pretty important mares foaled that year, but as usual, it's a little tougher digging up the pictures of mares. 


In 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson was in office, so it's interesting that among the mares registered were Lynda Bird Peavine, Lynda Baines, Ladybird Bourbon, Lady Bird Empire and Empire's Lady Bird.  Is that the supreme compliment having a horse named after your wife and daughters?
