3/1/14 February is sire rating time, 2014 version

OK, so I missed February, but not by much.  Here is the 2014 episode of the sire rating for the past seven decades.

2004 Poser AKA Belle Reve's Voodoo Magic was on the cover.

sure when, but fairly recently?

Supreme Heir was the #1 sire in 2004, but died that same year.

Chubasco was not only the cover on the 1994 stallion issue,

he was the #1 ranked sire in 1994. 

His daughter CH Sprinkles has her own Breyer model fashioned after her, 

as does Chubasco.  She is still showing.  His son CH Like Thunder is 

still participating in the Tournament of Roses Parade every year.  He's awesome.

CH Like Thunder is on the left in the 2013 Tournament of Roses Parade at age 23. 

He was also at the Olympics in 1998, and was WC Western Pleasure horse. 

Flight Time was the cover on the stallion issue in 1984.  

This Wing Commander son always took a beautiful portrait.

Sultan's Santana was #1 ranked sire in 1984.

Colonel Boyle was the cover of the February 1974 stallion issue.

He was also #2 on the sire ranking list.  

Stonewall Premier was the #1 ranked stallion in 1974.

In 1974, Sultan's Santana was just beginning his career at stud.

A decade earlier, and Colonel Boyle was on the 1964 stallion issue cover.

In 1964, Wing Commander was the #1 ranked sire.

He was #1 for  six straight years, just like he won the WGC 5 gaited stake for 6 straight years.

In 1954, Ridgefield's Denmark was on the cover of the stallion issue.

A decade before Wing Commander was the #1 ranked sire, 

his sire Anacacho Shamrock held the same position in 1954.  

And Wing Commander was the highest point scoring 5 gaited horse in 1953

This isn't the right year, or the right magazine cover, but I have it on good authority

that he was on the cover of the 1944 Saddle & Bridle stallion issue.
